Bio

J.jpgJulian Weaver was born in Columbia Hospital for Women on October 22, 1975 in Washington, DC to Dr. Julian and Mrs. Betty Weaver. His Art training began at a young age when Betty Weaver enrolled him in Art programs available in DC's various summer programs for the youth.

Julian majored in Studio Art at NC Central University's Art Department. Here his style began it's development. He had several internships ranging in disciplines such as Graphic Design, Museum Studies, and Art Conservation. The most notable of these being The Conserve a Legacy project which focused on restoring damaged treasures from the collection of various Historically Black Colleges and Universities. On an exchange program to The University of Science and Technology at Kwame Nkrumah University in Ghana, West Africa, Julian studied carving and found yet another tool for self-expression as well as more inspiration and points of view from the African students he had classes with.

In 2003 Julian found a  home at the Graham Collection Gallery. The gallery has sadly closed in 2007 but Julian continues on his own to bring you thoughtful, meaningful and beautiful works .
